The Dead Poets Salon and Open Mic
Thursday 27th July, 7.30pm. £5 on the door
As ever on the last Thursday of the month we shall be invoking the spirit of a dead poet by hearing their work, hearing something about their life and about their legacy. This month we are using our regular Dead Poets slot to round off our focus on Victor Neuberg. As well as being the proprietor of The Vine Press, Victor was also an accomplished poet writing poems much imbued with the paganism and sympathy with nature common in the early 20th century.
The second part of the evening, after we have refreshed our glasses, is an open mic where anyone present is welcome to read their own work. We focus on poetry but their are occasional outbreaks of singing and guitar playing!
Let us know if you want to come as the room is intimate and often gets very full!
