The Dead Poets Salon and Open Mic
Thursday 29th June, 7.30pm. £5 on the door
As ever on the last Thursday of the month we shall be invoking the spirit of a dead poet by hearing their work, hearing something about their life and about their legacy. This month our poet is the novelist and socialite Edith Wharton. She is best known for her novels The House of Mirth and The Age of Innocence but also wrote and published about a hundred poems.
The second part of the evening, after we have refreshed our glasses, is an open mic where anyone present is welcome to read their own work. We focus on poetry but their are occasional outbreaks of singing and guitar playing!
Let us know if you want to come as the room is intimate and often gets very full!
