Elizabeth Barlow: : Lost to Time
A talk by Dr Dawn West Cansfield
9th February, 7.30pm. £5
An 18th century female archaeologist from Midhurst. This talk draws on new research into the life and work of Elizabeth Barlow, a female archaeologist largely lost to time. Beginning in the mid-18th century, her story takes us from West Sussex to Hampshire via some great literary works and famous archaeologists, to both celebrated and little-known excavations.
Dr Dawn West Cansfield is a Visiting Research Fellow in the School of History and Archaeology at the University of Winchester and has spoken before at the shop on a couple of occasions and is always a joy to have with us.
Seats are limited, please let us know if you are coming. £5 on the door.
